Premium in-house embroidery on branded clothing at Class Uniform

How we embroider: digitised and stitched in-house

A logo file can't be sent straight to an embroidery machine — it first needs to be digitised, converting your artwork into stitch information: stitch direction, stitch density, thread changes, design sequence and overall embroidery size. Our team handles this in-house for every new design.

  • New logo or design — a one-time £10.00 embroidery digitising/setup fee applies to the artwork itself, not to each garment. 10 garments or 50 garments embroidered with the same new logo is still one £10.00 setup charge.
  • Repeat orders — once we've prepared and saved your embroidery file, you won't be charged the setup fee again when ordering the same design in future.

Custom embroidery and printing production at Class Uniform

From your logo to your garment

  1. Upload your artwork. Choose your garment and upload your logo or design — you don't need a digitised file, just the best-quality version you have.
  2. We check it. Our team reviews your artwork for embroidery suitability — fine detail, small text and colour count all affect how cleanly a design stitches out.
  3. We digitise it. Your design is converted into stitch data: stitch type, direction, density, thread sequence and sizing, prepared specifically for embroidery.
  4. You approve it. Where a proof is needed, we'll send it to you to check before production starts.
  5. We embroider, quality-check and dispatch it. Produced in-house from start to finish.

See our Art Guide for full artwork specifications, including file formats, design size and embroidery limitations.

Best suited for

Embroidery gives a durable, premium finish and works especially well for company logos, school logos, workwear, polo shirts, jackets, caps, beanies, names, initials and simple branding. Very small text, extremely thin lines, colour gradients and photographic detail are harder to embroider cleanly — for that kind of artwork, printing is usually the better option. Not sure which is right for your design? See our Art Guide for more on choosing between the two.

Where your design can go

Available positions depend on the garment, but common options include:

  • Front: left chest, right chest, centre chest, large front, full front
  • Back: upper back, centre back, large back, full back
  • Sleeves: left sleeve, right sleeve

The maximum recommended design width for embroidery is 25cm, though this can vary by garment and position — if you're not sure what's possible, just ask.

High stitch count embroidery

Large or complex embroidery designs can require significantly more machine time. High stitch count pricing may apply to designs that are more than approximately 15cm wide, around 25,000 stitches or more, or unusually detailed or dense — we'll advise you before production if this applies. See our Price Guide for the current rates.

Colour matching

Embroidery thread colours may not always be an exact match to digital colours, but we'll select the closest suitable option. If colour accuracy is particularly important, please provide any available brand colour references such as Pantone, CMYK, RGB or HEX — we'll use these as a guide when preparing your design.
